The AyeAye® is equipped with internal environment sensors to measure barometric pressure, air humidity and temperature. Due to the boat computer’s integrated internet you can also download weather charts for different areas and time periods and layer them over your navigational charts.
Monitor weather changes
Not only the current weather, but also changes and trends in the weather are easy to track with the AyeAye®. Thanks to the stored data from the environmental sensors, you can clearly view how the weather was while you were away.
Official weather forecast
Download official weather forecasts with the app and overlay the weather information on your plotter maps.
Future: Climatology
If you don’t have internet access and therefore can’t download weather forecasts, climatology can help you fill in the information gaps. Climatology is a way of displaying long-term average statistics. It then displays the ‘likely’ weather conditions that normally occur at your location during that period.
Future: Navtex or Weatherfax
In areas without reliable mobile internet access, it is still possible to receive weather information by radio transmission. This is because there are weather stations around the world that operate on certain frequencies and broadcast weather faxes. The AyeAye® is currently already able to receive these frequencies, record them and convert them into images. However, this feature is not yet developed in the app. We plan to make this option available in a future software update.
