Maritime startup AyeAye Systems and METIP (Maritime Emerging Technologies Innovation Park) are joining forces. AyeAye Systems from Hoorn is the developer of an innovative all-in-one boat computer. The aim of the collaboration is to accelerate the market introduction and to explore new opportunities for further business development.
AyeAye Systems and METIP kick off collaboration with big product presentation
During a meeting on 28 April 2022 at METIP, Willemsoord 51 in Den Helder, the signing of the agreement will take place. On that occasion, AyeAye Systems will give an extensive company presentation. Where the owner of a large sailing boat still has to purchase and (learn how to) operate all kinds of separate instruments and apps, the AyeAye® Boat Computer offers a bundle with more than 20 essential maritime devices and features, among others in the field of maritime navigation, communication, sensors and monitoring.
All features are easy to use with an intuitive app for smartphone, tablet or laptop. AyeAye Systems’ ambition is not only to make sailing cheaper and more accessible to a wide audience, but also to make it more sustainable. Co-founder and sustainability manager Leonie Tan: “With the AyeAye® Boat Computer, we want to make a concrete commitment to a clean environment. In the future, we want to use sensors to collect environmental data on microplastic pollution, coral bleaching and biodiversity. The community of our users can actively contribute to this.”
Proud partner of METIP
Although AyeAye Systems wants to focus initially on direct sales to consumers, according to entrepreneur and inventor Jamos Tan, the AyeAye® Boat Computer is also interesting for shipyards, charter companies and (maritime) insurers. “Shipyards, for example, can minimise the use of equipment and make vessels suitable for remote monitoring.” The company wants to further investigate the possibilities for these target groups together with METIP.
Jamos Tan: “We are proud to be a partner of METIP, which plays a central role as a centre for knowledge exchange and incubator for innovative ideas in the field of maritime, marine and offshore applications in the very North of North Holland. We are now concentrating on testing and launching our AyeAye® Boat Computer. The hardware is ready for production and together with our production partners in North Holland we want to take the final step soon.”
