The AyeAye® puts an end to expensive nautical charts. Because all the important nautical charts of the world are already pre-installed and directly available – without hidden costs and even offline. This is particularly practical if you want to cover longer distances with your boat and need extensive map material. Ideal for preparing your trip and for when you are on the move and the internet connection may not be guaranteed.
Charts available offline
AyeAye® allows you to access important chart material offline, unlike other free apps. No download needed, no hassle.
Extra layers online
In addition to traditional nautical charts, you can choose between different satellite layers that show, for example, sandbanks or other details that are not normally visible on standard charts.
Open-source
The AyeAye® uses the nautical charts available through a collaborative effort by OpenSeaMap. We support the open source community and the idea behind it. For optimal use, we have pre-configured the nautical charts so that even non-experts can use them quickly and easily, online and offline.
Updating
Due to the 4G internet connection of the AyeAye® boat computer, you can update the charts whenever you want. However, because this might consume large amounts of data, we recommend doing it the next time you are at a marina hotspot.
Use case 1: No Internet reception
If you are boating in areas where internet reception is poor or perhaps even non-existent, then you don’t have to rely solely on printed nautical charts. The AyeAye® boat computer has up-to-date nautical charts for most areas of the world. These are pre-installed and also available offline, which makes impractical and possibly expensive downloads of chart material on the move a thing of the past.
Use case 2: Boating on a budget
Typically, nautical charts are available per region, you have to download specific areas and buy them separately. This can eventually become quite expensive if you want to travel the world by water. Therefore, we have decided to offer you a set of nautical charts that is accessible to everyone and free of charge.
